Websites & Test Flows

Website settings

Edit website metadata, cookie banner selectors, client assignment, and platform type.

Use Website settings to edit a website's metadata and monitoring configuration for that site.

Key functions

General fields

  • Name — display label for the website in ShopMonitor.
  • Domain — the shop URL ShopMonitor tests (include the full URL, e.g. https://example.com).
  • Notes — optional free-text notes for your own reference.

Cookie banner selectors

  • Enter CSS selectors, one per line, for elements that dismiss cookie or consent banners (e.g. an accept button).
  • During a test run, ShopMonitor clicks the first visible match to dismiss the banner before continuing.
  • Leave empty if automatic consent handling is enough for this site.

Client assignment

  • Assign the website to a client or leave it unassigned.
  • Client assignment affects filtering, reporting, and run usage breakdown on Pro and Agency plans.

Platform type

  • Shown when WordPress plugin support is enabled in your account.
  • Choose WordPress (ShopMonitor plugin) or Not WordPress / without plugin helpers.
  • For WordPress sites, ShopMonitor may call the site's ShopMonitor REST API when needed during tests.

ShopMonitor Plugin card

  • Appears below the form when WordPress is selected as the platform type.
  • Shows whether the plugin is connected, the plugin version, and which integrations (forms, shop helpers) are active on the site.
  • Use Refresh to reload plugin data from the live site.
  • Save the website as WordPress first — the card loads plugin data only after that setting is saved.

Save and cancel

  • Save — applies your changes and shows a confirmation.
  • Cancel — discards unsaved edits and returns to the website detail page.
  • Back to website — link at the top; leaves the page without saving if you have not clicked Save.

Plan availability

  • Client assignment — Pro and Agency plans only.

Tips

  • Add cookie banner selectors if tests stall on consent dialogs that automatic handling misses.
  • After switching to WordPress, save once, then check the plugin card to confirm the site is connected.
  • Use notes to record login hints, staging URLs, or other context your team should know.
